聚丙烯具有许多优良特性：
1、相对密度小，仅为0.89-0.91，是塑料中最轻的品种之一。
2、良好的力学性能，除耐冲击性外，其他力学性能均比聚乙烯好，成型加工性能好。
3、具有较高的耐热性，连续使用温度可达110-120℃。
4、化学性能好，几乎不吸水，与绝大多数化学药品不反应。
5、质地纯净，无毒性。
6、电绝缘性好。
7、聚丙烯制品的透明性比高密度聚乙烯制品的透明性好。
PP聚丙烯用途：
（1）薄膜制品：聚丙烯薄膜制品透明而有光泽，对水蒸汽和空气的渗透性
小，它分为吹膜薄膜、流延薄膜（CPP）、双向拉伸薄膜（BOPP）等（2）注塑制品：可用于汽车、电气、机械、仪表、无线电、纺织、国防等
工程配件，日用品，周转箱，医疗卫生器材，建筑材料。
（3）挤塑制品：可做管材、型材、单丝、渔用绳索。打包带、捆扎绳、编
织袋，纤维，复合涂层，片材，板材等。吹塑中空成型制品各种小型容器等。
（4）其它：低发泡、钙塑板，合成木材，层压板，合成纸，高发泡可作结
构泡沫体。
